Organica can be installed using two different methods - the quickstart package or standalone template. The essential difference between the template and quickstart version of any of our templates is that the template version is stand alone and can be used on any existing Joomla installation, while the quickstart package is a comple installation of Joomla. If you would like some more information about choosing between the template or the quickstart package check this guide out.

a. Installing the Organica Quickstart package.

Choose this option if you are starting from scratch, do not already have an installation of Joomla installed on your site and would also like the demo content installed onto your site.

We have created an indepth tutorial for installing the quickstart packages. When you have finished doing that come back here and follow the rest of this instruction guide.

b. Installing the Organica Template.

Choose this option if you already have your site created or have at least made changes to the default Joomla installation and want to overlay the Canvas theme onto your site.

Installing the canvas template is achieved using the same method as installing any other template or extension.

1. Navigate to your Joomla admin area at yoursite.com/administrator
2. Navigate to Extensions > Install/uninstall
3. Click browse and locate the template zip on your harddrive.
4. Click upload and install.
5. After you receive the success message, navigate to Extensions > Template Manager
6. Select the radio checkbox next to the Canvas template and then click on the button at the top right of the screen that says default.
7. Now if you navigate to the front page of your site and you should see the Canvas template installed into your Joomla site.
